Minimize Skin Discoloration with Nu Skin’s Tri-Phasic White System

Most individuals will end up with areas of skin discoloration at some point. Whether it is considered an age spot, a sunspot or hyperpigmentation does not matter; those who have them don’t want them. To help remedy discoloration Nu Skin has developed Tri-Phasic White.

A comprehensive skin brightening system, Tri-Phasic White targets all three critical phases of the discoloration process.

·         Phase 1: Protecting from factors that can initiate discoloration (like the sun)

·         Phase 2: Targeting a key component of the discoloration process

·         Phase 3: Reducing the appearance of discoloration on the skin’s surface

The system consists of a cleanser, toner, essence, a day and night moisturizer, and, as a line extension, a treatment mask. Each product targets a different phase or two of the discoloration process.

Tri-Phasic White Cleanser: Targets Phase 3 of the discoloration process with the key ingredient creatinine. This pearlescent, moisturizing mousse gently cleanses the skin. Creatinine helps to lessen the appearance of discoloration on the skin’s surface.

Tri-Phasic White Toner: Features carnosine and fairtrex to target Phases 1 and 3 respectively. Carnosine as an antioxidant helps calm the skin, protecting it from the potential initiation of the discoloration process. Faritrex is a Nu Skin blend of ingredients that provides a nonacid exfoliation to diminish the appearance of discoloration by actively removing the pigment.

Tri-Phasic White Essence: The system workhorse features Brightex, a proprietary Nu Skin blend. The Brightex blend targets a key component in phase II of the discoloration process so that darker pigmentation is less likely to be created. Tri-Phasic White Essence can also be used as a spot treatment and/or can be added to different core systems to target discoloration.

Tri-Phasic White Day Milk Lotion SPF 15: Contains broad-spectrum SPF protection to prevent the penetration of UV rays, the most common initiator of discoloration. This light lotion also features hexapeptide-2 to help protect the initiation of discoloration from other sources.

Tri-Phasic White Night Cream: A richer nighttime moisturizer that also targets Phase 1 of the discoloration process. Diacetyl boldine has a structure with the ability to inhibit the initiation of discoloration by calming and soothing the skin.

Tri-Phasic White Radiance Mask: Sold separately from the system, this product is a pre-moistened cloth mask that is formulated with purslane extract and tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane (THDM), targeting phase1 and2. Purslane calms and soothes skin which can inhibit the initiation of discoloration from skin stressors, while THDM targets a key component of the discoloration process making it so darker pigments are less likely to be created.

Nu Skin conducted a clinical study at a third-party contract research organization to evaluate the efficacy of the Tri-Phasic White System. As Asian skin is more susceptible to discoloration, Japanese women from 40 to 65 years of age with mild to moderate mottled pigmentation on their face were recruited. They used all five products in the Tri-Phasic White System for 12 weeks. Professional clinical graders evaluated each participant’s facial appearance for six attributes at weeks zero, four, eight and 12. Following is the percent of participants exhibiting improvements as noted by the clinical grader after 12 weeks:

·         93% improved in brightness

·         97% improved in radiance

·         97% improved in even skin color

·         79% improved in skin smoothness (which translates into brightness)

·         83% decreased in area of mottled appearance

·         100% improved in overall appearance

Targeting the three critical phases of the discoloration process using the Tri-Phasic White System is a comprehensive and effective way to diminish areas of dispigmentation and help skin regain and maintain youthful skin tone and radiance.
